Notes: This was a rare-1-of-200 factory-built 396-cid Z-16 '65 Chevelle, this one equipped with an 850 hp Turbonique Drag Axle. (The entire assembly, including the vessels holding the Thermolene liquid fuel, are seen to good advantage in this promotional photo.) This was McClure's ride until he upped the ante with an insane Turbonique thrust-powered go-kart. Miraculously, he survives to this day. - RT |
