Notes: Members of the Pirates Racing Team in Seattle and sponsored by the Wall Brothers, they set a new world record for B/FD at Scappoose, Oregon, on July 13 with 156.65 mph. Unfortunately, it was disallowed because officials didn't follow all the technical procedures to make the time recognized. A week later, at Shelton Airport, they set a new world record for B/FD with 152.80 mph. This mark was recognized as officials followed all the proper procedures.
