Notes: Sharrigan drove the No-Mads rear-engined blue and white dragster to what track officials said was the fastest time for dragsters in the East. He clocked 138.4 mph for a half-mile distance. He took top eliminator for the quarter-mile races with 108.43 mph. More than 1,000 spectators watched 65 cars compete. Most of the racers were from Massachusetts, with a few from Maine. Notes: Sharrigan drove the No-Mads blue and white dragster to top eliminator at Sanford on May 20. At the Sanford race on June 10, Sharrigan set an eastern seaboard record with a speed of 130.42 mph and won top eliminator. For the third consecutive time, Sharrigan took top eliminator at Sanford on July 8 with 134.33 mph, breaking his old track record in the process. On Sep. 9, the bearded Shag again took a top eliminator win at Sanford with 140 mph. At the final race of the season at Sanford on Oct. 14, Shag took top eliminator with 132 mph.
