Notes: Gendian started the season racing his Chrysler-powered A Hot Roadster, setting track marks at Pomona. In mid-summer, according to a report in Drag News (8/19/55), he bought Ed Losinski's purple A/FD, powered with Harry Duncan's injected Chrysler motor. At San Fernando's grand opening race on August 14, he turned 133.24 mph. However, the sale may not have been finalized because Losinski continued to race it for several more months. On October 9 at Lions, Losinski set a new track record of 151.25 mph in the dragster. On October 16, Losinski set a new track record in the dragster at Santa Ana with 149.68 mph. On November 13, Losinski set a new single-engine world record in the dragster at Lions with 151.51 mph. On November 20 at the Phoenix Arizona Championships, Losinski recorded the fastest speed at an NHRA-sanctioned race with 151.57 mph. But shortly after that, Losinski sold the dragster to Dave Ryder. With Gendian driving the fast dragster, he took a top eliminator win on December 18 at Pomona. He clocked times of 10.57 at 135.33 mph.
