Notes: Grimes may have driven this car at a few races in 1956, but he had the best times in it with other drivers doing the driving. Jack Moss drove it at an NHRA regional meet in Amarillo on Aug. 19, clocking 116.88 mph. Bert Kessler, from Matton, Illinois, drove it at the ATAA World Series of Drag Racing event at Lawrenceville, Illinois, on Aug. 26, running 117.493 mph.
