Notes: In 1973, Tom Blandford, Milton Stewart, Rodger McCracken, and I ran this car with a Brad Anderson 392 that we bought when he went to the 426. Was only campaigned in that configuration for one year. Best run was a 7.09 with the steel 392 5/8 stroke, .060 Don Kirby/Kenny Youngblood paint scheme. - Terry Johnson |

Notes: Seattle held its night opener in May. It was an eight-car show, and Wayne qualified for the field. In the opening round of eliminations, his 6.65/211.16 lost to eventual winner Hank Johnson's 6.25/215. Wayne was at OCIR on July 22 for the PDA Championships. In the opening round of competition, he and John Stewart ran 6.37, with John getting the "win" light. King's speed on the run was only 171.75. Wayne also ran 6.51 at Seattle. We need to confirm what year Wayne moved to Washington. |

Notes: Ontario 5.93 was the 8th entry into the Cragar Five Second Club. Held track record at Salt Lake City at 6.30 seconds in August 1973. Won Division 7 points meet there on 8/19/73 with a 6.399 over Garth Widdison's 6.515. The California boys could not figure out the altitude. Formerly listed 238 mph speed. The 227.27 at Ontario was Dan's fastest national event speed. We need confirmation on the 238. 6.266 220.58 NHRA Indianapolis IN 9/01/73 |

Notes: Grangruth started with former Horchar Bros. Bantam and ran A/FA with big block Chevy. Later built this unique car which featured the driver seat off set to the left. When the car was finished, the injected nitro class was dumped, forcing Grangruth to run blown gas. |
