Notes: Frank ran the Ford on his own for at least 1987 after the Bernstein deal fell through. We need to confirm the T-Bird was run in 1988. Frank qualifed number 5 at IHRA Atco 1988 with a 7.393 187.50. Iaconio lasted to the semis, he beat Barry Shirley 7.43 to 7.51 in the first round, in the second he bested Kenny Korestky 7.46 to 7.50, til' failing to Bob Glidden's 7.368 with his own 7.46. |

Notes: At the NHRA Gatornationals, John qualified #12 with a 6.79/206.61, but he lost to Vern Moats in the first round. He was at Cayuga for the NHRA Division 1 race on May 19, where only four alcohol FCs showed. He ran 7.53/171.75 to qualify #4 and a first-round 7.20/197.58 lost to Carol "Bunny" Burkett's 6.95/205. He failed to qualify at the NHRA Grandnationals, where his 7.37/199.91 best was the third alternate for the eight-car field. On August 2, John was in New England for the NHRA Division One final. He qualified on the "bump" for the eight-car field with a 6.83/200.44. Unfortunately, the car broke in the first round, giving his opponent, John Samolyk, a solo into the semifinals. |

Notes: The Reher & Morrison team debuted a new Chevy Lumina for the '92 season. The first time out, Bruce took it to Houston for pre-season testing. He was rewarded with times of 7.15 and 7.14, both at 193. He qualified the car #7 at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 7.220/191.85. He beat Frank Iaconio in the first round, before losing to Jerry Eckman's 7.20 in the second round with a 7.272/190.35. At the NHRA Arizona Nationals, a 7.257/190.71 qualified #5. He improved to a 7.245/190.27 in the first round, that beat Joe LePone Jr., but he lost to Warren Johnson in round two, 7.29/190 to Bruce's off pace 7.66/145. At Houston for NHRA's third race of the year, the Supernationals, Allen set Low ET of the meet in qualifying #1 with a 7.164/191.97. He slowed to 7.336/189.67 in the first round, but still beat a broken Gary Brown. In round two, he beat Yates' 7.24/189 with a 7.219/190.79. He pushed the tree a little too hard in the semifinals and fouled away a 7.186/191.61 that lost to eventual winner Mark Pawuk's 7.22/190. At Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals, Bruce qualified #7 with a 7.185/193.09 (tough show!). A 7.20/192.47 advanced past Kenny Delco's 7.25/190 in the first round, but he lost to Larry Morgan in round two. Bruce's 7.26/191.53 lost to Morgan's 7.21/191. Rockingham hosted the NHRA Winston Invitational in April. Allen qualified #9 at 7.24/189.87. He beat Yates in round one, with a 7.21/191.20, but he lost to Jerry Eckman in the second round. The next event was the NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta. Bruce qualified #2 with a 7.237/190.35. Unfortunately, a first-round 7.33/189.27 lost to Pawuk's 7.29/187. Another first-round loss came at Memphis for the NHRA Mid-South Nationals. He qualified #4 with a 7.265/190.92, but he lost to Lewis Worden with a 12-second shutoff. The bad luck streak continued into the NHRA Springnationals. He qualified #10 with a 7.317/189.03, but a 7.286/188.83 lost to Yates' holeshot 7.30/188 in the first round. Things went the team's way at the NHRA Grandnationals. Bruce pushed the car to a 7.247/191.12 to qualify #4. Another 7.24 at 191.57 beat Paul Rebeschi in the first round, while in round two, a 7.30/190.31 took out Rickie Smith, and in the semifinals, his 7.296/190.67 beat Johnson who had tire shake and slowed to 7.49/190. This put him into the final against Yates. In the final, Yates had problems and slowed to 7.86/172 while Bruce picked up the victory with a 7.270/190.63. It was Allen's first NHRA National event win since the 1990 NHRA Northstar Nationals. Bruce qualified #2 at the Summarnationals at 7.267/190.03. He beat a surprising Kenny Delco in round one, by holeshot, 7.326/189 to 7.322/188. He beat a broken Frank Iaconio in round two with a 7.34/189 but then fell to Ricky Smith in the semis, 7.29/189 to 7.35/189. Bruce qualified #10 at Denver at 7.69/178. He lost to Bob Glidden in round one, to of all things, a holeshot, 7.75/178 to Bruce's 7.68/178. The team qualified #5 at Sonoma at 7.212/191.20, but Glidden got him in round one, again, 7.25/191 to 7.26/190. Bruce qualified #8 in Seattle at 7.218/189.99 but got upset in round one, by Pal Rebeschi, 7.27/189 to 7.33/189. Bruce ran 7.29/188.44 in Brainerd to grab the #7 slot. He beat Alban Gauthier in round one, 7.38/186 to 7.50/167, but WJ got him in round two, 7.34/189 to 7.39/186. At Indy, Bruce qualified #6 with a 7.256/190.47, but Rickie Smith ended his day in round one, 7.29/189 to 7.33/188. Bruce found himself in the bottom half of the field at Maple Grove; his 7.224/190.07 entered the field in the #12 position. He lost to Jerry Eckman in round one, 7.19/191 to 7.25/189. The team entered Topeka in the #7 position at 7.264/189.99. Rickie Smith fouled against Bruce in round one, and Allen got a 7.258/190.35 victory. But nemesis WJ won their round two match, 7.20/192 to 7.28/189. Allen found the 'teens at Ennis; his 7.158/192.02 earned the #5 qualifying position. In round one, he beat Mike Thomas, 7.167/191.89 to a fouling but surprising 7.173/191.44. Geoffrion ended Bruce's day in round two, 7.19/191 to 7.22/190. Bruce ended his season with a #7 qualifying effort at the World Finals at 7.220/191.36. He beat Joe Lepone Jr. in round one, 7.215/191.04 to 7.24/190. Bob Glidden defeated the Super Shops Chevy in the second round, 7.19/192 to 7.226/190.67. It was a hard-fought but disappointing year for the once-dominant team. |

Notes: Also, 7.121/193.13 in testing. Larry qualified #3 at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 7.20/191.04. Unfortunately, he lost to Bob Glidden in the first round. At the Arizona National, he ran 7.24/190.67 to qualify #2. He beat Harry Scribner in the first round, with a 7.26/190.03, but in round two, he was slow off the line, and his 7.32/188.67 lost to Don Beverley's 7.36/189. The next stop on the NHRA trail was at Houston for the Supernationals. Morgan qualified #11 with a 7.22/190.31. He made up for the holeshot loss from the previous race by beating Warren Johnson's 7.19/191 in the first round, with a 7.25/190.15. But in round two, he lost a close one to Jerry Eckman when both ran 7.21 (Morgan at 190.59). It was then off to Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals. Larry qualified #2 with a 7.14/193.00, and in round one, his 7.17/191.81 advanced when Gary Brown fouled. In the second round, his 7.21/191.12 beat Bruce Allen's 7.20/191. This put Larry into the semifinals against Johnson. Larry tried hard, but his 7.21/191.97 was no match for Johnson's 7.14/193. He went to Rockingham for the NHRA Winston Invitational. There were no points on the line for this event. Larry's 7.22/191.85 qualified #5 and a first-round 7.21/191.40 took out Joe Lepone Jr. In the second round, he lost to Glidden's quick off the line,7.23/192 with a 7.22/189.99. The NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta was next on the circuit and a 7.27/190.03 qualified #8. Vince Khoury fouled against him in the first round. In round two, he was up against Glidden again, but this time his 7.25/189.63 beat the Ford Ace's 7.26/190.51. In the semifinal, he was up against Scott Geoffrion's Dodge. Scott ran Low ET of the meet, a 7.18 at 191, to stop Morgan's 7.27/190.31. NHRA's sixth race of the season was the Mid-South Nationals at Memphis. Larry's 7.27/190.71 qualified #5. Paul Rebeschi fouled against him in round one, and Morgan advanced with a 7.30/191.00. In the second round, to beat Lewis Worden with a 7.38/188.95. Once again, he found himself in the semifinals. There he faced the Dodge of Geoffrion. Morgan wanted to get to the final, and he tried a little too hard pushing the 'tree and coming out red. His 7.36/188.95 was of no use due to the foul, but he had to chance it as Scott ran 7.25/190. It must have been a little frustrating for Morgan as he was running well and reaching the semi's, but he hadn't reached a final yet in '92. That changed at the NHRA Springnationals. There he qualified #6 with a 7.30/189.89. He improved to 7.26/190.03 in the first round, to beat IHRA star Billy Huff. In the second round, he got lucky when Beverley had trouble and his off-pace 7.43/188.44 advanced. In the semifinals, he faced Geoffrion for the third time in the last three events, but this time Larry's 7.31/189.31 beat the Dodge's 7.33/188. He moved into his first NHRA final of '92, where he faced Jerry Eckman. Jerry also ran 7.31 in his semifinal win, so it looked to be a close race. It didn't work out so well for Morgan. He got out of shape and shut off to 10.05/86.19, while Eckman picked up the victory with a 7.29/189. He followed the NHRA tour to Canada for the NHRA Grandnationals, where his 7.28/190.43 qualified #9. In the first round, he faced Canadian Alban Gauthier. His car went into severe tire shake, and Larry drove through it to a 7.51/188.71, but he lost to Alban's 7.49/171. He finally got into the winner's circle at Englishtown for the Budweiser Pro Stock Challenge race. It was an eight-car field consisting of the top Pro Stock qualifiers over the past year. The race was run in conjunction with the NHRA Summernationals. Larry started his run by beating Eckman's 7.33/190 in the first round, with a 7.31/189.19. A 7.33/189.07 beat Geoffrion's 7.34/188 in the semifinals, and Morgan went to the final where he was up against Allen. Bruce had problems and shut off, and Larry got the victory with a 7.28/190.39. The next day he qualified for the Summernationals with a 7.26/190.39 (#3). Another 7.26/189.99 in the first round, beat Lepone, but in round two, he was late off the line, and his 7.27/190.19 lost to Rickie Smith's 7.28/189. |
