Notes: Jack was in Gary, Indiana, on July 30. He had just changed the car from a Clutch-Flite to a torque convertor-equipped box. He ran a new career-best of 8.14. |

Notes: This car was practically unstoppable in UDRA competition. Al regularly ran seven second times while most of his competitors were hard-pressed to run low eights. Al was at Muncie on June 9 for a UDRA Circuit race. It was an eight-car show, and he had the only car in the field running seven-second times. An opening round 7.99/173.07 beat the "MCS" Dart. His 7.97/179.79 defeated Bob Weimer's Buick in the semifinal at 8.73/157. He faced the Opel of Jack Ditmars in the final. Not sure if Al fouled or what, but Jack got the victory with an 8.21/176 over Fontanini's 7.97/180. |
