Notes: He raced at all 4 NHRA events in 1969. He ran 7.71/198.67 at Pomona, 7.74 at Springnationals in Dallas, 7.63 at Indy Nationals, and 7.55 at the World Finals (Dallas). 1969 NHRA Division 4 Top Gas Champion. Ray qualified #15 in the sixteen-car field at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 7.81/194.38. In the opening round, his 7.71/198.60 lost to Earl Poage's 7.64/192. | I raced my own AA/GD along with the Moritz & Lundy car and helped to work on it. It was an R&B (Dennis Rollain and John Buttera) chassis out of Wisconsin before Buttera went to the Left Coast and added the "Lil'" moniker. It, like mine, was also a direct drive car (no 3-speed transmission). Thanks, Bill, for putting out such a great website! - Connell R. Miller |
