Notes: Car burned to the ground at Suffolk in early June '71 (6/11/71 Drag Times). - RT | Al was at Suffolk for a four-car show. In the first round his ailing 9.09/140.00 lost to George Reese's 7.46/189. In the second round, Graeber's 7.30/140 had just beaten a wheelstanding Phil Castronovo. But as the speed shows, something was wrong. His transmission exploded and the car went into flames. Al got it stopped and got out OK with no injuries except for his pocketbook as the car burnt to the ground. It was a total loss. |
