Notes: At Stout Field in Indianapolis, he turned 101.22 mph on July 24. On Aug. 21, he won his class at the ATAA World Championships at Lawrenceville with 12.5 at 125 mph. We can only assume that he was undoubtedly running on fuel because he was never above 110 mph at races either before or after the ATAA race. He took TE at Stout Field with 106.50 mph on Aug. 28. At Ft. Wayne on Sep. 11, he clocked 102.50 mph. At Stout Field on Sep. 25, he turned 108.88 mph. Photo: Elwood Call-Leader, July 27, 1955 - MB |
