Notes: World's First Jet Funny Car. The J-46 Westinghouse jet, formerly powering the Vought F7U Cutlass, was the weed burner of choice for most of the Arfons family's drag ventures. During 1967 Walt Arfons' stable alone included three jet funny cars and a pair of jet dragsters, all touring simultaneously. - RT |

Notes: Arfons apparently debuted the new "Cyclops" on the backstretch of the Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, Fla., as previewed in the 1/06/62 Daytona Beach Herald-Journal. Arfons said Cyclops was the 17th in the line of Green Monsters. Cyclops was intended primarily as a Bonneville land speed record car and not a dragster. It was featured in the June 1962 Motor Trend. - RT |

Notes: Morris piloted this glass-bodied, J-46-powered Chevy from the Walt Arfons stable. Morris died in late August 1970 in a crash at Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio. He reportedly lost control of the car after deploying the chute following a 200 mph run. - RT |
