Notes: Former Mike Mitchell funny, former Bob Beatty AA/FA, former Dave Wood. Voirin crashed this car off the end of Tulsa destroying the car. A founding member of the OFA and veteran fuel altered pilot, Voirin ran into problems early as the throttle on his 'American Flyer' hung and he was on his way to a wild ride to the big end of Tulsa Raceway Park. The car went through the sand, dug into a grass hill, flipped upside down, and landed in the ditch on 129th Street behind the track. The car was turned over and Bob was pulled out of the car alert and responding, much to the delight of the very concerned fans and fellow racers. It was a scary sight that had a happy ending when Voirin showed up back at the track later that night. After the carnage was cleared and Voirin was sent to the hospital for precautionary purposes. - http://www.outlawfuelaltereds.com/ |
