Notes: Higley qualified 12th at Tucson Dragway AA/FA Nationals with a 7.75. He was at OCIR on December 4 for its Super Altered Invitational race. All fourteen cars ran in the first round, with the four quickest advancing to the semi-final. His 7.80/175 beat Henry Harrison's engine-blowing car, but his ET did not advance into the final four. |

Notes: Track record at the time at Tucson. Jackson won the Tucson Dragway Fuel Altered Nationals on 9/76 after qualifying 11th at Tucson Dragway AA/FA Nationals with a 7.71. We made a little jaunt over to S.L.C. and Bonneville Raceway in the '70s and met up with old friend DENNIS GEISLER for a match race, Dennis nipped us in the final with a 7.08 to CAL'S 7.10, but we BOTH set the track speed record with identical 206.82 M.P. H. Now they're reminiscing in the skies somewhere! - Les Jackson |
