Notes: Burkett qualified #12 at Englishtown in May for the NHRA Mopar Parts Nationals with a 6.15/231.95. In the first round, her 6.38/225.05 lost to eventual winner Bob Newberry's 5.98/230. We had the 237.85 speed listed in the Fall 1990 paper draglist booklet, so the the IHRA 237.85 is suspect. We need to validate. |

Notes: John qualified #17 in the 32 car field at Indy for the NHRA US Nationals with his 7.26. That set up a first-round meeting with low qualifier Ken Veney. Carter tried hard, but his 7.27 lost to Veney's 7.01. Photo from D3 WCS Indianapolis Raceway Park 1974. This car was originally listed at 6.802/212, but that was too fast for 1974, where the best ET and speed for the year were Veney at 6.94/203.70. Listing the times in 1975, although that is probably too fast for that year, too. We need confirmation. Confirmed 7.26 at Beech Bend, 7.39 at Columbus, and 7.26 at Indy. |

Notes: Photo from 1975 US Nationals. Confirmed 198.67 from Indy 1975. Moved times of 6.802/212 from the 1974 entry (too fast for 1974). We need to confirm John's best times during these years. A 212 in 1975 might be too stout, too. | John was at Edgewater for the UDRA Memorial Day Weekend Championships. Carter beat Bob McConnell in the opening round with a 7.23. In round two, a 7.26 beat Dave Sebring. He faced Ken Veney in the semifinals and despite running a quicker 7.28, he lost to Veney's 7.29. |
