Notes: After blowing their engine in the last race of the 1958 season at Spokane, members of the Cogs car club started rebuilding a new gas dragster with a '59 Chrysler motor, Beast IV. They had the new car ready for running at Shelton's race on June 7 where they clocked 9.86 at 154.90 mph. They were consistent Top Eliminator winners at Shelton, Bayview, and other Northwest drag strips. They were invited to enter the U.S. Nationals at Detroit and were making plans to do so.
