Notes: Therwhanger was at Miami-Hollywood on Jan 9 for a sixteen-car show. Nineteen cars attempted to qualify, and while Therwhanger didn't win or even make the finals, the "pure" Chevy-powered Camaro did run a best of 7.11, giving a good account of itself. |

Notes: After having broken a crankshaft and having parts of the engine blow out the rear tire and sending the Charger into a series of rollovers at the NHRA World Finals at OCIR on October 16, Mike Dunn was back at OCIR on October 29 for its final drag race. The "Hawaiian" team was put in a tight spot to get ready for the race and they used a Ford EXP body for the event. It was the only time the "Hawaiian" had ever used a FoMoCo body. In the actual race, Mike qualified in the eight-car show with a 6.05/229.00, but he failed to reach the finals. This car was Billy Meyers #2 entry which Tripp Shumake drove. Roland had an Omni grill painted on the EXP body to satisfy Mopar sponsorship. Tim Simplot |
