Notes: Korney's car/chassis debuted in 1965 as the injected Anglia A/G "Goldfinger," adding a blower and moving up to AA/G in '66. In '69, he was runner-up to Ohio George Montgomery in the AA/GS Indy class run offs, marking the end of dominance by a classic gasser-style bodied car in AA/GS. In '71, the Anglia shell was replaced by a Corvette shell, and with the Stone, Woods & Cooke logo went on tour with K.S. Pittman, Junior Thompson and a few others, dubbed a traveling blown gas funny car circuit. As of mid-'80s, rumor had it that Korney still had the car, including the Anglia body. As an Anglia, ran 8.50s, as a Vette, 8.30s. |

Notes: Revised edition of his Anglia A/Gasser, introduced two years earlier. Featured in the August '66 issue of AHRA Tach. This car took A/G at the 1966 AHRA World Championship at Lions. A week later at the NHRA Winternationals (Pomona), his perennial win escaped him, losing to the Kohler Bros., though turning a quicker/faster 10.32/136.36. - RT Loper ran the first A/G nine second time with a 9.99, but when and where? |

Notes: Lutz & Lundberg's yellow Anglia took the A/G class win at the '64 Nationals, beating Gene Altizer for the trophy. While most of the upper gas class cars were sporting a beefed hydro, driver Jim Lutz rowed a 4-speed stick. The car was destroyed in a racing accident at Minnesota Dragways in 1965. The team went on to build and race a succession of well-remembered altered-wheelbase 4/4/2 funny cars. (Times cited may not necessarily be the car's fastest or quickest.) - RT |

Notes: Car debuted in 1966 serving as the most refined Henry J ever. Bored, stroked 427 Ford wedge earned high nines. One of the partnership ended up being drafted. Upon returning, the guys reunited and built a flip top blown gas Mustang that Ran NHRA BB/A and as a local gas funny car circuit machine. The Henry J ended up in the hands of a local African American bracket racer who plopped a 428 Cobra Jet motor for bracket I racing. The car was then called Soul to The Bone. |

Notes: Blown, stock displacement 427 Cammer with 4-hole upright Hilborn injectors. C-6 auto trans. Frame built by owner off of heavily modified '33 Willys frame rails to conform to NHRA's gas class "stock automobile-type frame" rule. Car weight 2,150 lbs. fiberglass '67 Mustang body by Cal Automotive, painted "metalflake Easter Bunny blue." - RT | The 1967 Mustang Malco Gasser debuted at the 1967 NHRA Spring Nationals in Bristol, Tennessee. This was the car that changed the gassers forever. It was at corporate Ford's insistence that "Ohio George" race what Ford sold. This car proved so superior in handling and performance that the "World's Wildest Willys" was permanently retired. The Malco Gasser was powered by a blown 427 SOHC Ford that made approximately 1200 HP on pump gas. It was raced until May 1975. It was selected to the 1967 Car Craft All-Star Drag Team. George set 5 NHRA National records with this car and won Super Eliminator at the 1969 NHRA Spring Nationals. The Malco Gasser is now on display at the Peterson Museum in Los Angeles, California. - TK | At season's end held the NHRA's AA/G class record of 8.92/162.16 as recorded at Saginaw, Mich. in June '67. - RT |

Notes: In 1963 he purchased a '41 Willys coupe, also powered by a blown Oldsmobile engine. The fabricated weight of the Willys was 2000 pounds. Because of the weight restrictions in the B/Gas Supercharged class, 950 pounds of ballast had to be added to bring it into conformance. - Ron's website |
