Notes: Carol won the King of Kings Funny Car Championships at Delmar in April. She ran 6.98 and 6.81 to reach the final, where her 6.83/204.09 beat John Paris' 7.08/210 for the title. At the NHRA Division 1 Opener at Englishtown on May 5, she qualified #7 with a 6.73/208.09. In the first round, opponent Russell Prince broke, and Burkett advanced with a 6.76/203.61. In the semifinals, she fouled against Frank Manzo and shut down to 7.16/187.11. The next Division 1 race was run two weeks later at Cayuga Dragway. Only four cars showed, and Carol's 7.20/194.59 qualified #2 behind Bob Newberry's 6.72/210. She ran 6.95/205.94 to beat John Armstrong's 7.20/197 and met with Newberry in the final. Her off-pace 7.33/187.69 finished runner-up to Bob's 6.79/212. | At the NHRA Budweiser Summernationals at Englishtown (Her only National Event of the season), she qualified #11 with a 6.627/211.56 & ran #3 Qualifier Bob Newberry in Round 1. Unfortunately, Bunny's 6.492/213.27 was a losing effort compared to the eventual runner-up Newberry's 6.430/217.70. At the KMart/Polaroid US All Pro Funny Car Championships at Englishtown on 9/22/85, Bunny ran John Paris in Round 1. John ran 6.58/208.33 to Bunny's, losing 6.67/211.26. In the consolation round, Bunny ran Leroy Dewdney and defeated him with a 6.57/214.28 to Dewdney's losing 6.87/211.01. | If anyone knows any better numbers for Bunny in 1985, it would be appreciated. - Rob McCabe |

Notes: Car was the former Plueger Bros Omni. | Mike qualified #3 at Firebird Raceway's NHRA Division 6 Opener with a 7.05/196.93. He improved to 6.88/181.81 in the first round, over Bill Smith, but he hurt some parts and was unable to run in the semifinals against Brad Anderson. On March 3rd, he was at Green Valley for the NHRA Division 4 Opener. He qualified #5 in the eight-car field with a 6.73/198.23, but once again he hurt some pieces and was unable to run. He was replaced by first alternate, Wayne Stoeckel. At the second Division 4 race at State Capitol Raceway, his 6.81/205.47 qualified #7. He improved to 6.70/204.54 in the first round, to beat Bill Wendt's 6.74/209. In the semifinals, a 6.96/193.54 lost to eventual winner Dal Denton. | Haddox qualified on the bump for the NHRA Winston Finals with a 6.532/214.79 but would lose in round 1 to #8 qualifier Pat Austin with a 6.714/211.16 losing effort to Austin's 6.476/216.03. |

Notes: Noel Reese's engine. Photo from 1987 US Nationals. | Fred was at Firebird's Super Bowl of Drag Racing on January 18 (NHRA D7 Phoenix AZ 1/18/87) . He was making licensing runs and drove his form 1/87er Shirley Muldowney owned car to a best of 6.26. He then went to Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals. This was his first NHRA national event since he ran at the '72 Winternationals. Unfortunately, his best of 5.93/227.27 failed to qualify. Former Shirley Muldowney Dragster |

Notes: 1985 NHRA SpringNationals, Columbus. Qualified 13th at 6.89, 203.80, but a 6.83 in Round 1 to Ken Veney's 6.60 wasn't enough. |

Notes: Richard was the fourth alternate at Pomona for the NHRA World Finals with a 6.561/205.85. The car was built with the driver slightly forward with the laydown design to let the car be lower than 43" high at the roof. The body looked more stock than others due to how the car sat. |
