Notes: Photo from Indy 1990. ET and speed confirmed by Jim Hawkins' DragStats. | At the IHRA Tosti Asti Spumonte Gateway Nationals, Foxworth qualified #6 with a 5.414/267.28 & drew #3 qualifier John Carey in round 1. Foxworth had the advantage off the line over Carey .566 RT to .608 RT, but Foxworth's 5.467/263.85 couldn't hold off Carey's 5.420/245.53. At the NHRA US Nationals, Foxworth qualified #15 with a 5.225/269.46 & Drew #2 qualifier Eddie Hill in Round 1 where Foxworth lost. At the NHRA Chief Auto Parts Nationals in Dallas, Foxworth qualified #10 with a 5.060/275.98 & Faced #7 Qualifier Dick LaHaie in round 1 where Foxworth lost. |

Notes: At the IHRA Loctite/Nationwise World Nationals at Norwalk, Bolger qualified on the bump for the 8 Car field with a 5.977/214.80 & faced #1 Qualifier Kenny Bernstein in Round 1. Unfortunately, Bolger red lighted away a 6.097/227.85 which regardless, was no match for the eventual runner up Bernstein's 5.469/268.66. | Gary was at Bristol early in September for the IHRA Fallnationals. It was an eight-car field and his 5.85/233.97 was the fifth alternate. 1989 Rick Howard photo from Martin, MI. |

Notes: Former boat racer. Photo from Indy 1986. Brad was at Firebird Raceway on January 18 for the Super Bowl of Drag Racing. He had troubles and was only able to run a best of 6.86/110.70 and failed (sixth alternate) to qualify for the eight-car field. Things went even worse at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals where he was the sixteenth alternate with a 7.23/122.41 best. | At the NHRA Castrol GTX Fallnationals in Phoenix, Tuttle qualified #11 with a 5.745/251.25. In round 1 he would have problems & lose to #3 Qualifier Don Prudhomme. If anyone knows any better numbers for Brad in 87, please let us know. - Rob McCabe |

Notes: Purchased Daytona from Roland Leong. Keith was at Firebird Raceway's Nightfire Nationals in August. Six FCs competed, all of them making two passes and the two lowest ET cars running in the final. In his first race, his tire-smoking shut off 8.30/115.20 lost to John Force's 6.32/216, and in his second race, Jackson's 6.34/217.83 beat Wally Giavia, who smoked the tires. Keith's ETs were not low enough for him to qualify for the final. The only NHRA national event appearance was at Bandimere, where the team was first alternate at 6.348/216.08. | Keith ran 6.19/231 In the First Round of the 1989 Fall Funny Car Nationals At Epping, losing to Chuck Etchells. Video of Run in Link. Any Times Quicker/Faster for Keith in 1989 was greatly appreciated. Thank you. - Rob McCabe |

Notes: Kalitta was at Firebird Raceway in Jan during the Super Bowl of Drag Racing event, testing his car. He ran times of 5.61/249.30 and 5.63/237.46. Connie qualified #6 at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals with a 5.73/236.09. He beat Shannon Stuart in the first round before his 5.69/202 lost to Joe Amato's 5.49/264 in the second round. At the Gatornationals, he ran 5.68/230.65 to qualify #8. He beat Jack Revelle with a 5.63/212.36, but in the second round, his parachute released early, and he lost to Dick LaHaie. Kalitta attempted to qualify for the eight-car show in Atlanta for the Southern Nationals, but his 5.75/250.97 best was good for the first alternate. In May, he was at Baton Rouge for the Cajun Nationals. It was another eight-car show, but this time he qualified. In the first round, he ran Don Garlits, and although they both ran 5.77s, "Big Daddy" got the win. The next stop for the NHRA tour was Columbus, Ohio, for the Springnationals at National Trail. Kalitta qualified with a 5.70, putting him in the dreaded #9 spot. That spot put him in the first-round race with low qualifier Amato, a race that Joe won. At the end of June, NHRA went to Canada for the Grandnationals, where Kalitta ran 5.58/255.68 to qualify for #4 in the eight-car show. A first-round 5.54/260.26 beat LaHaie's 5.60/259, and he made it past the semifinals to run against Garlits in the final. There, Conrad ran a good 5.62/256.41, but it wasn't good enough as Garlits took the victory with a 5.48/262. In qualifying for the Summernationals at Englishtown in July, Kalitta ran a career-best (to this point) 5.52 at 254.09 to qualify #4. He beat Chris Karamesines in the first round, and in round two, a 5.57/259 beat Amato. He lost to Darrell Gwynn in the semifinals. Conrad took a big win at the next event, the Mile High Nationals in Denver. He qualified #2 with a 5.63/259.36 and made his way to the finals of the eight-car field. He faced Bill Mullins and beat him with a 5.62 to Mullins' 5.68. Things continued to go well when he also racked up the Northstar Nationals win. At Brainerd, he qualified #1 in the eight-car show with a 5.551/258.62. He ran career bests of 5.458/264.70 (track records), beating Garlits' 5.576/259 in the first round. A semifinal 5.531/236.22 advanced when Gary Ormsby fouled. In the final, he met another long-time racer, Gene Snow. Kalitta's 5.523/260.86 took the victory over Snow's 5.63/255. Kalitta hoped to make it three in a row when they rolled into Indianapolis for the US Nationals. A 5.61/261.62 qualified #7 for the show. He had the second Low ET of the first round when his 5.60/259.06 beat Junior Kaiser. Unfortunately, a strong second-round run of 5.65/257.28 lost to Garlits' 5.63/261. The next event on the NHRA schedule was the Keystone Nationals at Maple Grove. It was a tough show to make with the eight cars all qualified at 5.53 or better. Kalitta was in the middle of the pack with a 5.50/256.41 that qualified #5. He lost to low qualifier Gary Beck in the first round. At the Fallnationals, Connie qualified #4 with a 5.54/241.93. |

Notes: Mike was at Firebird Raceway at the end of January for the NHRA Division Six opener. Only eight cars showed for the eight-car field, so he ran an easy 7.84/119.04 to qualify #5. Unfortunately, that set up a first-round meeting with low qualifier Brad Anderson. Brad's 6.58/218 beat his 6.73/213.27. At Pomona, his 6.37/221.13 qualified second to Anderson's 6.32/225 for the NHRA Winternationals. A 6.59/216.65 beat alternate Jett Field in the opening round, and in round two, his 6.65/218.55 defeated Lou Gasparelli's 6.67/212. In the semi-final, Mike's 6.54/216.45 lost to Steve McGee's 6.52/218. | At the Baylands East/West Challenge, Gasparrelli qualified #3 & Defeated #7 qualifier Wayne Stoeckel in Round 1 with a 6.39/220 to Stoekel's losing 6.63/211. In the Semis Grieco faced #1 Qualifier Lou Gasparrelli where Grieco's 6.38/220 lost on a holeshot to the eventual runner up Gasparrelli's 6.40/216. At the Sacramento Winter Classic Grieco ran a 6.34 in qualifying & Defeated Mike Andreotti in round 1 with a 6.47/218.98 to Andreotti's losing 6.57/205.95. Grieco would face the Dodge Omni of Hans Kuesel in the semis where Grieco would once again be quicker but lose when his 6.48/218.45 would not beat the Eventual runner up Kuesel's 6.49/211.77. | In the first week of April, he was back at Firebird Raceway for the Coor's FC Championships. It was an eight-car field, and his 6.67/219.51 in the first round lost to eventual winner Anderson's 6.51/214. The next NHRA Division Six race was held at Bakersfield early in May. Grieco's 6.50/222.77 (Top Speed) qualified #5. He was upset in round one, where his 6.76/187.11 fell to Mike Shaw's 6.70/205. Shortly after that (May 19), he was at Fremont for the NHRA Division Six race. He qualified #3 at 6.43/218.97. In the first round, both he and Gasparelli ran 6.44 (Grieco at 216.86), but Mike got the "win" light. In the second round, Kenny Mooers' 6.74/205 fell to his 6.51/215.82. He fouled away a 6.53/216.34 against Anderson in the semi-final. He had to take the chance as Brad advanced with a 6.29/225. Photo from 1985 Pomona. | Car sold to Chuck Worsham. |

Notes: Only six FCs showed up at Darlington for the IHRA Winternationals. Gary qualified last at 7.28/177.16. In the opening round, he smoked the tires and lost to eventual winner Brad Tuttle. | At the IHRA Loctite/Nationwise World Nationals, Litton ran 6.733/145.40 which was only good for 4th Alternate. | Photo from 1989 IHRA World Nationals, Norwalk, Ohio. |
