Notes: Steve Swaja designed. The streamliner was active through late spring 1965, often match racing other streamliners. By July, TI was touring with a conventional car. It was definitely not the Video Liner Runner-up at Indy. It went 194.80 at Lions (spring 1965); Ivo debuted this streamliner at Fremont on Mar. 15, turning 8.24 at 192.30 mph. Five days later, he ran at Lions without the body shell, turning 8.39 at 194.80 mph. A week later, running with the body back on at Lions, he turned 8.90 at 183.66 mph. He appeared at Puyallup International Dragway on Apr. 10. At Lions on Apr. 17, he turned 8.11 at 193.96 mph. He ran at Fontana on May 1, turning 8.03 at 192.30 mph. Notes: New confirmed times per 8/10/57 Drag News posted on 11/09/12. They ran on fuel to take the 1957 Texas Drag Championship at Caddo Mills. I replaced previously listed (unsubstantiated) stats of 8.935/169.81. - RT | Previously posted: We need to confirm that those times were run in 1957. This makes him the second-fastest car in the sport after Garlits' late-year 176.40 and Emery Cook's 166.97.; On Aug. 3/4, at the Texas Drag Championships at Caddo Mills, he clocked a best of 10.23 at 134.32 mph. On Dec. 1 at Caddo Mills, he took Top Eliminator with 10.11 at 145.16 mph. On Dec. 8 at Red River Drag Strip in Wichita Falls, he took Top Eliminator and set a track record with 141.28 mph. Notes: Langley set a new record on gas in June at Houston with a 9.55/156.79 with his blown Chrysler. Everything I've read says the dragster Langley raced early in the '59 season before selling the car was called Scorpion II, not Scorpion III. It is called Scorpion II in Drag News articles and advertisements. At Freeway Drag Strip on Jan. 18, he turned 9.22 at 156.35 mph. On Jan. 25 at Red River Drag Strip, he ran 9.46 at 161.57 mph on gas. At the March Meet at Bakersfield, he ran 9.80 at 152.54 on gas and 9.22 at 166.35 mph on fuel. He was taken to the hospital, but released as they concluded he was only severely shaken up. Notes: After running a very successful unblown injected 354 '55 Chrysler-engined B gas dragster in '59, they mounted a blower on a '58 Chrysler 454 motor in '60 to run in A/GD. They broke an axle on their first outing at San Antonio on Jan. 3 but still took a class win, coasting across the finish at 120 mph. They took Top Eliminator at the season-opener at Caddo Mills on Mar. 13. By August, their partnership may have dissolved as most articles after that didn't mention Mabry and Hunt was driving his own dragster, but that needs confirmation.
