Notes: Confirmed 6.737 at Houston. Did Warren run 6.681 in testing somewhere this year? The best speed was 205.32 DNQ at Joliet. WJ started strong but slipped from the 6.70s to the 6.80s in the latter half of the season and failed to qualify at several events. |

Notes: Former S/S. Photo from Maple Grove PA 1970. Can-Am block. Grump definitely had this car at Ontario, but did he start racing it as soon as Indy? We are listing it that way. He qualified #2 there but broke on the burnout against Dave Strickler in round one. |

Notes: Bill debuted the new Camaro at Englishtown, qualifying #10 at 9.838/138.46. He beat Rich LaMont in round one, 9.86 to 11.96, but lost to Don Nicholson in round two, 9.64 to another 9.86. At Indy, Bill qualified #10 at 9.777/140.84, but he was shocked by Hubert Platt in round one, 9.85 to 9.96. Bill also ran 9.80 at York with this car. That was his last national event in his own car, but he qualified Bill Coe's Duster at Ontario (and then Coe drove during eliminations). |

Notes: Warren did not race at all the NHRA national events in 1981. He spent a large part of the year running the Jerome Bradford Monte Carlo on the IHRA trail. WJ's first NHRA event was in Atlanta in April. He qualified number 7 at 8.583/157.34. In round one, he lost to Bob Glidden, 8.50/158 to 8.632/156.24. At the NHRA SpringNationals in Columbus, Warren qualified number 14 at 8.686/156.52. Warren could not make it for the first-round, and Paul Gentilozzi took his spot against Bob Ingles in the field. At the NHRA Summernationals in Englishtown, Warren qualified number 11 at 8.552/158.73. Unfortunately, that lined him up against Bob Glidden in round 1. Glidden took an 8.53/159 to 8.656/155.70 victory. At Indy for the US Nationals, Warren qualified number 16 at 8.616/160.14. In round 1, David Hutchins ended Warren's NHRA season with an 8.50/158 to 8.810/154.37 shellacking. This year, Warren used a 340-inch engine, and it was clear the smaller displacement was not giving him the results his standard big blocks did. |

Notes: We also have a confirmed 8.59 in Unlimited trim. This Mustang II was new in 1975 and ran as a legal NHRA Pro Stock during that year. During 1976, Scott ran this car mostly in match race trim and as a legal C/A at NHRA national events. This photo from the 1976 NHRA Springnationals shows the car running as a C/A in Competition Eliminator. |
