Notes: This is the same car run under the name American. After Jimmy Taylor left, Bob tried Raven chutes for a while, at this time Bob owned and drove it. It was a J-46 and for the times I have nothing, but newspaper accounts to go by. The times didn't seem as important as the show and a safe run. If they kept the time slips I haven't found them. Notes: Arfons apparently debuted the new "Cyclops" on the backstretch of the Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, Fla., as previewed in the 1/06/62 Daytona Beach Herald-Journal. Arfons said Cyclops was the 17th in the line of Green Monsters. Cyclops was intended primarily as a Bonneville land speed record car and not a dragster. Notes: Morris piloted this glass-bodied, J-46-powered Chevy from the Walt Arfons stable. Morris died in late August 1970 in a crash at Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio. He reportedly lost control of the car after deploying the chute following a 200 mph run. - RT
