Notes: This shot caught my attention as it looks like the old NorCal based Davis-Ingram AA/A once called the Jewel T. A former class record holder and 68 NHRA world champ, it was one of the first gas altereds in the 8's. It was powered by a 427 L88 Chevy and featured the exact chassis, body proportions as shown, albeit with an upgraded roll cage. I will try to confirm with some shots of the Jewell T and offer comparisons. - Bill Duke |

Notes: Car debuted in 1965 as an A/Gasser, then stepped up to AA/G in '66. Korney fielded the car as an Anglia until mid-1970. In '69, he was runner-up to Ohio George Montgomery in AA/GS Indy class run offs, marking the end of dominance by a classic gasser-style bodied car in AA/GS. In '71, the Anglia shell was replaced a Corvette shell and with Stone, Woods & Cooke logo went on tour with K.S. Pittman, Junior Thompson, and a few others, dubbed a traveling blown gas funny car circuit. As of mid-'80s, rumor had it that Korney still had the car, including the Anglia body. As an Anglia, 8.50s, as a Vette, 8.30s. |

Notes: Car appears to be the former Phony Pony AA/FC of Jr. Brogdon. Car appears to be at LACR some years after Brogdon moved and left the sport. I suspect the car was now being raced as a bracket racer with some sponsorship being offered by the Service Center. |
