Notes: This car represented the zenith of when So-Cal AA/GS deviated from the NHRA interpretation of what a gasser was. It featured a rectangular chassis that allowed the engine to be moved fore and aft. In essence, Lombardo could move it back 25% for BB/A, or adhere to fellow circuit members demands that he at least keep the engines positioned at 10% engine set back. Eventually by late 1969, Lombardo began running the car on low doses of nitro qualifying for a few open 8 car shows. He sold the Vette in mid 70 to make room for his flamed Challenger. Jim Kirby of Challenger blown gas Willys fame bought it dubbed Challenger II and ran it on blown gas funny car circuit from 71/72. Lombardo did coax a few 8.30's with 25% engine set back. |

Notes: Zeller was an employee for Keith Black. Car was flip top style, featuring beautiful paint job. High 8's at 155. The car was then converted to a So-Cal AA/GS roadster where it ran 8.60's. Zellers then ran the Midnight Skulker Cuda in 71. |

Notes: Car was originally an injected alky circuit car called Dumbo. Hicks bought it in 1972, and ran both gas and alky. Car ran a few of the 32/64 car circus shows on alky, but generally focused on the So-Cal blown gas funny car circuit, an off shoot of the old AA/GS. |

Notes: Car debuted in 64 as a blown gas Fiat altered with chassis built by Barker himself. In 66, the Fiat shell was replaced with a Mustang shell and car began running as a flopper in local shows. Initially ran direct drive for Chrisman like launches. Blown 427 Wedge eventually ran mid 8's at 170 plus. Car won Comp Eliminator at 67 HRM Championships. Car was sold to Aussie racer in late 68, but he ran it with 392. |
