Notes: Charlie won the NHRA Division 1 Opener at Englishtown on May 3. He qualified #4 in the eight-car field with a 6.59/211.26. In round one, he advanced with a 6.47/213.77 when John Rose broke and a 6.41/215.82 in the semifinals beat John Speelman's 6.45/193. In the final, he met low qualifier Bill Barney who was running 6.2s. The smart money was on Barney, but he had problems and shut down to 6.77/165, while Bauer picked up the victory with a 6.43/217.39. That was followed by another victory on May 17 at Cayuga Dragway in Canada for the NHRA Division 1 race. Bauer qualified #2 with a 6.68/211.26 that improved to 6.62/207.85 in his first-round win over Speelman. In the semifinals, he used a 6.64/209.79 to beat Wayne Celko and move into the final against low qualifier Bill Walsh. Once again, Charlie was the underdog, but he cut a great light, and his 6.65/208.81 beat Walsh, who set Low ET with a 6.59 at 210 trying to catch him. Things didn't go as well at the June NHRA Division 1 race at Maple Grove. Charlie ran 6.61/202.70 to qualify #5 in the eight-car field, setting up a first-round meeting with low qualifier Speelman. John must have been a little worried as he fouled against him, and Bauer's 6.61/202.70 (again!) advanced. In the semifinals, he and Al Kenny ran 6.51 (Bauer at 208.81), but Al won. He went to Englishtown for the NHRA Summernationals and qualified #4 in the sixteen-car field with a strong 6.41/211.01. A 6.46/210.92 advanced in round one when Ron Still broke, and in the second round, his 6.44/211.21 beat Tony LeBor. Eventual winner Mike Kosky beat him in the semifinals with a 6.41/213 to Charlie's 6.48/209.88. | Charlie ran the NHRA WDRS at Epping in August where he qualified #1 with a 6.39/213.27. In Round 1 Charlie faced #5 qualifier Rich Bozzelli. Charlie would get the Victory with 6.39/213.27 to advance to the Semis. He would have lane choice over #7 Qualifier Bill Walsh & ran his best ET of the Weekend 6.37/213.27 to Walsh's losing 6.56/205.47. However he would give up lane choice in the final to John Speelman after Speelman set Low ET of the meet in the other semi final pairing. However Speelman's mount broke on the burnout causing Charlie to get the solo to the divisional Victory with another 6.30 run with a 6.38/206.42. | Charlie ran 6.426/212.16 to claim the 9th alternate slot at Indy on 9/05/87. |

Notes: Mike drove almost exclusively at Super Chevy events. Roger still had Black & Decker as a sponsor on both cars. Mike also ran at the 1991 All American Jet Car Nationals at Englishtown, but I can't read in the video taken what his best ET/MPH were in his 2 runs that night. Video Links; First Run Vs Bob Van Sciver https://youtu.be/Go1UCav0fGY Second Run Vs Roger Gustin in Video Links. If anyone can confirm what these times were & if Mike ran any Quicker or faster numbers, it was greatly appreciated. Thank you - Rob McCabe |

Her first-round 6.35/223.43 lost to Chuck Cheeseman's 6.09/228. | At the NHRA Mopar Parts Summernationals, Bunny ran 6.118/231.06 to qualify #9 & Drew #8 Qualifer Gilles Daoust in Round 1 where Bunny ran a 6.237/228.36 Losing effort to Daoust's 6.209/227.73. In August at the 7-Eleven/Jamesway US All Pro Funny Car Championships at Englishtown, Bunny ran 232.79 in round 1 & had one of the two lowest ETs of the Alcohol Funny Cars Along with Dennis Bedrosian to make the final round. Unfortunately, Bunny's 6.288/226.81 in the Final was no match for Bedrosian's 6.185/229.47 & thus Bunny had to settle for the Runner Up Finish. | At the NHRA Keystone Nationals, a 6.12/228.48 qualified #11. In the opening round, Terry Mullins fouled against her, and she advanced with a 6.28/225.62. Unfortunately, the car broke on the line against eventual winner Pat Austin in round two. |

Notes: Was this an entirely new car or the Corvette rebodied? | Debuted the Dodge Daytona body in the 2nd half of 1990. Won the 1990 Polaroid US All Pro Funny Car Championships at Englishtown after running 6.19/226 in Round 1 over Rich Lagno's 7.02/198, then defeating Dick Bell in the final with a 6.21 to Bell's 6.29. Len's first NHRA National Event with the car was the US Nationals where his 6.182/226.18 was good enough for 6th Alternate. He then went to Maple Grove for the NHRA Sunoco Keystone Nationals where he qualied #6 with a 6.076/226.47. In round 1 Len would face #11 Qualifier Bunny Burkett, Capone would win on a holeshot with a 6.151/225.73 to Burkett's losing 6.127/230.65. Len in Round 2 would face #3 qualifier Pat Austin where Len pulled off an upset over the former World Champion with a 6.185//226.07 after Austin had a mid-track wheelstand & was forced to lift. Len would move on to the semi finals to face #2 Qualifier Stan Sipos. Unfortunately Capone's best run of eliminations 6.113/226.07 was no match for the Eventual Runner Up Sipos's 5.956/234.49. Any additional Info ET/MPH Len ran with this car would be appreciated - Rob McCabe |

Notes: Mullins ran strong in '85. He started the year by qualifying #5 at Pomona for the Winternationals with a 5.57/263.00. A first-round 5.91/214.79 got around Frank Bradley, but in round two he lost a motor and the race to Larry Minor. At the Gatornationals, he continued to run strong. A 5.66/255.10 qualified #7. He beat Hank Endres in the first round, with a 5.68/256.41. In round two he upset Don Garlits with a 5.67 over Garlits' 5.68. Unfortunately, facing Joe Amato in the semifinals, he fouled. The next NHRA event was the Southern Nationals at Atlanta. It was an eight-car show and Bill qualified #4 with a 5.64/249.03. He lost to Gene Snow in the first round. The Cajun Nationals featured another eight-car show. Qualifying was tough as Mullins blew an engine trying to make the show. Another engine was put in and he qualified. He beat Gary Beck in the first round, with a 5.74/249 and in the semifinals, a 5.67/254 beat Darrell Gwynn. In the final, he faced Garlits and Don claimed his 25th NHRA win to beat Mullins. It was still a very good showing for the team. He finished one spot higher at the next NHRA event, the Springnationals at Columbus. He qualified #4 with a 5.61/252.95 and beat Dan Pastorini in the first round. He got revenge on Garlits in round two when he beat him with a 5.69/252 over Don's off pace 5.95. Bill out drove LaHaie in the semifinals with Bill's 5.71/258.02 (Top Speed) beating Dick's quicker 5.66/251. In the final he faced Beck. Mullins ran a 5.62/257.58 to take the win over Gary's 5.71/245. The NHRA tour headed to Canada for the Grandnationals at Sanair International at the end of June. Once again it was an eight-car show. Mullins qualified #3 with a 5.58/257.87. He ran Garlits in the first round, and fouled against him. Mullins really stepped it up at the Summernationals at Englishtown. He ran a 5.477/257.14 to qualify #3. John Carey car was former Jody Smart machine |
